Not to be critical, I came to one meeting at Johnson library and only one person was there. I was hoping for of a group meeting. Was this an exception or typical.
Thank you so much for coming out and for sharing this feedback. It genuinely helps us, and we don’t take it as criticism at all.
That meeting was actually one of our very first at that location, and turnout for caregiver support meetings can really vary from meeting to meeting. Caregiving looks different for everyone, and so does people’s ability to show up on any given day. Sometimes we have a fuller room, and sometimes it’s just one or two people. Either way, we believe that’s still worth showing up for. Even a group of one deserves a place to be heard and supported on their caregiving journey.
We’re a small, volunteer-powered organization, and we lean heavily on partners and word of mouth to help people know we’re here. So truly, thank you for giving us a try. We’d love for you to consider joining us again. Attendance tends to grow as more people in the community learn about us, and we’re hopeful that trend continues at the library, too.
