{"id":28038,"date":"2026-01-25T16:02:48","date_gmt":"2026-01-25T22:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sandwichedkc.com\/?p=28038"},"modified":"2026-01-26T11:27:59","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T17:27:59","slug":"sandwiched-kc-turns-eight-a-community-built-by-caregivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sandwichedkc.com\/es\/sandwiched-kc-turns-eight-a-community-built-by-caregivers\/","title":{"rendered":"Sandwiched KC Turns Eight: A Community Built by Caregivers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This month, Sandwiched KC is celebrating a big milestone: <strong>eight years<\/strong> of creating space for family caregivers to connect, share wisdom, and feel a little less alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What started as a small idea has grown into a community shaped by the caregivers who show up, speak honestly, listen generously, and support one another through some of life\u2019s most demanding seasons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether you\u2019ve joined us once or have been with us from the beginning, this community exists because of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the years, we\u2019ve grown in ways that reflect what caregivers told us they needed most: more connection, more access, and more opportunities to be together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What began as monthly gatherings has expanded into <strong>twice-weekly virtual support groups<\/strong>, making it easier for caregivers to find support that fits their schedules. We now host <strong>in-person groups twice a month<\/strong>, offering face-to-face connection and shared understanding. And each year, our <strong>annual conference continues to grow<\/strong>, bringing caregivers together for learning, reflection, and community on a larger scale. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We were even able to launch our<strong> Caregiver Respite Fund <\/strong>and paid out<strong> 38 respite vouchers<\/strong>, providing nearly <strong>1,000 hours<\/strong> of respite since 2022!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But growth has never been about numbers alone. It\u2019s about the conversations that happen in these spaces. It\u2019s about caregivers realizing they\u2019re not the only ones feeling stretched thin, overwhelmed, or unsure. It\u2019s about shared laughter, quiet moments of understanding, and the collective wisdom that emerges when caregivers are given room to be real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we celebrate eight years, we\u2019re also looking ahead.
