For family caregivers, those resolutions can feel like just another responsibility added to an already full plate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So what if this year, the resolution was simpler&#8230; and more supportive?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What if your New Year\u2019s resolution was to <strong>stop doing caregiving alone<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Caregiving Was Never Meant to Be a Solo Act<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re caring for a parent, partner, child, sibling, or friend, you already know how isolating caregiving can feel. Even when you\u2019re surrounded by people, it can seem like no one quite understands what your day-to-day reality looks like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Caregiver support isn\u2019t about fixing everything. It\u2019s about having a place where you can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Say the hard things out loud<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learn from others who\u2019ve been there<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feel less alone in the messiness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take a breath without having to explain yourself<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Making caregiver support part of your routine is one of the most sustainable things you can do for yourself&#8230;  and for the people you care for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Caregiver Support Can Look Like at Sandwiched KC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Sandwiched KC, our mission is to create opportunities for family caregivers to find local support and shared wisdom. That means offering different ways to connect, based on your schedule, stage of life, and comfort level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s what support can look like in the new year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Weekly Virtual Caregiver Support Groups<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our virtual groups meet on Zoom and are open to family caregivers at any stage. Come as you are \u2014 camera on or off, talkative or quiet, overwhelmed or just curious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Thursdays at 8:00pm<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fridays at 10:00am<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These groups are a consistent space to check in, share what\u2019s been weighing on you, and hear from others who get it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In-Person Caregiver Support Groups at Turning Point<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes it helps to sit in the same room with people who understand. Our in-person caregiver support groups at <strong>Turning Point<\/strong> offer connection, conversation, and community&#8230; without pressure to have the \u201cright\u201d words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019ve been craving face-to-face connection, this can be a powerful way to remind yourself you\u2019re not alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When<\/strong>: Second and Fourth Tuesdays at 6:00pm<br><strong>Where<\/strong>: Turning Point, located at 8900 State Line Rd #240, Leawood, KS 66206<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In-Person Caregiver Support Groups in Johnson County<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">January 22, 2026 at 9:00am at the Lenexa Old Town Activity Center<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beginning in February, we&#8217;ll be meeting in a new location!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When<\/strong>: Second and Fourth Thursdays at 10:00am<br><strong>Where<\/strong>: Central Conference Room 02 at the Central Resource Library, located at 9875 W 87th St, Overland Park, KS 66212<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Introducing 40 Below: Support for Caregivers Under 40<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Caregiving at a younger age comes with its own challenges \u2014 balancing careers, raising kids, managing finances, or feeling out of sync with peers who aren\u2019t in the same place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>40 Below<\/strong> is our newest virtual caregiver support group created specifically for family caregivers under 40. It\u2019s a space to talk about the unique realities of caregiving earlier in life, connect with others who understand, and feel less isolated in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u2019t have to explain why your life looks different. Everyone already gets it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Resolution That Makes Room for You<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Caregivers are often great at showing up for everyone else&#8230; and not so great at showing up for themselves. Choosing caregiver support as your New Year\u2019s resolution isn\u2019t indulgent or selfish. It\u2019s practical. It\u2019s protective. And it\u2019s necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u2019t have to attend every group. You don\u2019t have to share every time.
