To kick off National Family Caregivers Month, Sandwiched KC, along with the help of numerous volunteers, hosted its first conference for caregivers in the Kansas City metro on Saturday, November 4, 2023.<\/p>\n
Nearly 50 family caregivers from all walks of life attended to network, learn about topics in aging and caregiving, and meet with companies and community resources.<\/p>\n

Tina was born in California but moved to Southwest Missouri as a young child so her mother could care for her grandmother. A first generation high school graduate and the daughter of a nursing home housekeeper and a custodian, Tina earned a Bachelor\u2019s of Science and an MBA in Accounting from Missouri State University before seeking a Juris Doctorate and a Master\u2019s of Law in taxation from the University of Missouri \u2013 Kansas City. Tina, her husband Bryan, and their three spoiled rotten fur-babies live in Blue Springs.<\/p>\n Because Tina grew up tagging along to and volunteering in nursing homes, she developed a lifelong passion for the senior community. Tina is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), WealthCounsel and ElderCounsel, Kansas City Metro Bar Association, and Missouri State Bar, where she serves on the elder law, estate planning, and probate committees.
